Doctor Web — the Russian anti-virus software developer — releases the
new version of Dr.Web console scanners for Windows, DOS, OS/2. The
console scanners are inexpensive solutions for experienced users
familiar with the command line. The console scanners feature the
improved anti-virus engine and the same virus databases as Dr.Web
Security Space and Dr.Web anti-virus 5.0. for Windows.
Experienced users knowing how to work with the command line can use
Dr.Web console scanners for DOS, Windows, OS/2 to cure a system of
various malicious objects.
The console scanners are based on the updated anti-virus engine that
has been operating perfectly in Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web
anti-virus 5.0 for Windows. The engine features cutting-edge detection
and neutralization technologies and enables the anti-virus to detect
malicious code disguised by means of unknown packers and check
archived files at any nesting level. Origins Tracing is a
non-signature scan technology also implemented in the scanners. It
allows the anti-virus to detect unknown malicious objects with high
probability.
Apart from Increased speed of scanning and low system requirements,
Dr.Web console scanners also have errors of previous versions fixed.
