Im in big trouble here. Freind of mine keeps wrecking his computer on average every six months and Im at the end of my rope!
This current machine was built by myself about 6 months ago and now it wont boot into windows.
I created a boot CD and scanned the system. This scan took around 30 hours!
Dr Web found multiple problems, trojans, virus etc.
When i tried to remove or cure or anything else, i kept getting the same error warning, "not enough room on device"
What does this mean?
I think i may have by mistake installed a second opertaing system on the one drive (500 gb) in another partition, ie, i have now got two windows 7 installs on the one 500 gb drive. This machine has 2 drives, i wanted to install a OS on the other drive but didnt.
Will Dr web automaticly scan both drives or just the one selected in hard disc boot priority?
The other drive has an old copy of windows xp.
My main concern though is that error message in the scanner.
I realy dont want to wipe the drive if i can help it, Ive realy had enough of that what with recovering his work etc.
Thankyou for any advise.

Dr.Web tries to write something on your drive but there is not enough space on drive.

What message do you get? What type of product you have installed? Unable to understand what has happened.

The scanner normally unpacks the scanned files to a temporary folder on the system drive.
Perhaps the lack of space on it. Check this assumption.

In my case, this is abit strange as its a 500 gb drive with a fairly new installation of Win 7. Although I may have inadvertantly installed 2 O.S on one drive, I wouldnt have thought it was low on space on the drive.

I am using Dr Web. This however was an attempt to remove the virut.56 polymorphic and the link above was something I was doing to attempt to get my infestation under control without a format and reinstall..

I put it there so for some input on the guide.

Not trying to disrespect this thread, just trying to help and get some help...
