Any thoughts on why or reasons why the AV scanner would stop at the system volume information folder and do nothing? Any remedies for this? Tried deleting old restore points, tried safe mode, can't think of what else to do. Any help is appreciated.

Oh ya, I should also mention that I tried other AV scanners as well, like bit defender online scanner and it also stops at this point. Symantec Corporate 10 scanner doesn't though.

Any ideas?

Probably, in this folder (System Volume Information) the big archives on the sizes lay. The most simple guideline - to disable system Restoring. My Computer - Properties - System Restoring - Disable system restoring on all disks. All breakpoints of restoring of system will thus be deleted. Then again can include if necessary.
