Hello,

I've been using DR.web antivirus 6 for windows on a number of users machines (friends and family). As part of the setup I like to enable an automatic scan on system startup, this is straightforward, However can I change the settings on the scanner so it automatically (without user input) does a complete scan rather than an express scan. I remember doing this somehow on Dr web 5 but can't seem to do it in dr.web 6?

Thanks

Smokey

Good choice :(

Dr.Web's beauty is when you run complete scan once you don't need to run it again and again, because it flags the files clean or infected :( Also Express scan finish time is shorter than complete scan time. I recommend you to not change to complete scan if you did complete scan once before.

May i ask you which operating system and version you run?

We are doing this with v6 too but we don't use scanner window to configure this setting.
OS : Debian Sid , all i have all i need!

Thanks for the quick reply

Ok If you think it best I'll go with the auto express scan at startup. Basically I have to set Dr web up in such as way as it requires zero user input, as if I ask them to do scan or maintenance stuff they never do it anyway :(

The setup is Windows 7 64 with DR.web antivirus 6.00

It is better. Plus you should make a complete scan at least once for every computer.

I got it

Please follow instructions step by step.

  • You would see dr.web icon on system tray, please right click on it, choose Tools -> Scheduler. If you use UAC, you wouldn't see Scheduler first, to see it you need to click on Administrative Mode in dr.web system tray icon menu then Scheduler will appear.
  • In task scheduler window please follow this way like in picture. Task Scheduler Library -> Dr.Web Daily Scan.

Okay, but I neglected to have it run a Complete scan after reboot when I installed (was having installation trouble); how do I re-enable the option to complete scan on system startup, before anything else is loaded?
