Dr.web Cureit! Loop During Express Scan

Hi everyone,

I have been using Dr.Web CureIt!, for quite some time now, without any issues at all. I usually scan my pc once every 15days with Dr.Web CureIt.

Well, I hadn't scan for a while now, since 7/8/09. Today I downloaded the updated version of Dr.Web CureIt, and tried to scan my pc. But although I used to have no issues whatsoever, today Dr.Web CureIt started to LOOP during an express scan, and the scan would never finish.

With the older version of Dr.Web CureIt, the express scan usually scanned about 2,000 files in total. Today, I have noticed that you have changed the scan engine, and the express scan tried to scan more files than usual.

Today it counted 70,000 files, but I have noticed that after the first 10-15,000 files, it was scanning the same files again and again.

Why? What have you done with this nice product? Whatever you did it's not working!

I would appreciate your help in resolving the above issue.

Here is the log, but both scans I run today were not finished. I interrupted them both. They were both Looping!

I have no possibility to download such files. I asked in archive! Pack the log in archive, please.

You are correct. It's very like to an infinite looping.

Please submit a support question to a "Feedback" section here http://support.drweb.com/ and attach this log to it. You will be allowed to add files only when the initial request will be accepted.

As a quick and dirty solution please try the following:
- run the Cure It
- click Start
- abort the Express scan
- go to the settings (F9)
- add "nv_disp.inf_ab388479" item to "Exclude Files" list (don't foget to click Add)
- OK
- click ">" ("start scanning") to re-run the "Express Scan"

You can try to download CureIt once again and to repeat scanning. The situation will change?
The problem is really exists

I'll try running off the self with a new download. If it does not work I'try HHH suggestion.

I'll feedback the results as soon as I'm done.

P.S. I tried to change some of my seettings in MyControls here in the forum, and to add my Avatar. But it does not allow me to do so. Why?

Without presence of this information the help will not be possible in any variant. The log file will ask later. It is better to make it at once.

Probably your Avatar is not fit to the accepted format? Check up it.

As soon as I hit the button for any of the MyControl settings I get warning message. I never had the chance of trying to upload anything.

But this is not serious. Just to let you know, that the access to MyControls is not allowed. Strange.

Come into the profile. Come into profile options (or settings). Come in Installation the Avatar

(Thanks for your feedback. Now seems to be fine. I got access and it allowed me to modify/change my settings. I uploaded my avatar allright).

Now for the Dr.Web CureIt!. I downloaded a new file. Run it, and again I got the Loop-Scan at this specific file:nv_disp.inf_ab388479. There is a problem with the new scanning engine definitely.

Now, I added this file to the exluded list of files, as HHH suggested.

I'll let you know how it goes.

NEW EDIT: I'm afraid that HHH suggestion didn't work either. Although I have excluded this specific file, still Dr.Web CureIt! tried to scan it, and of course it looped again into circle-scanning.

What the heck is going on?

Probably it is incorrect engine or scanner jobs
I recommend to address directly to developers of a product (if it could you) http://bugs.drweb.com (New registration is necessary)
The problem will process much faster.

Hi all,

Problem solved. New scan engine scans over 115,000 files and takes over an hour. The "stay" of the scan engine in the DriverStore, appeared to create a loop.

This is not so. It scans more thoroughly, and patience is the key.
