Hello

I think that the new version of Dr.web use more ram that the old versions. I disable all in my SpiderGuard but still using lot of CPU.

Any suggestions?

If you are looking at task manager cpu times: disable all spider guard "additional tasks". Most of the CPU time occurs because it scans all running programs and modules every time after a virus database update.

(however, this could potentially decrease protection)

Add next files to exclusion list:
C:\documents and settings\administrateur\application data\teracopy\options.ini
C:\documents and settings\administrateur\application data\teracopy\transfer.log

After that decrease log level to "Extended". Try to work. If problem will stay - repeat logs.
С уважением,
Борис А. Чертенко aka Borka.

Hello,

Have you ever made a full scan with dr.web? Because i see you use scan mode with optimal option and heuristic is enabled.

The Optimal mode is recommended for use after a thorough scan of all hard drives by Dr.Web Scanner. With this mode activated, SpIDer Guard prevents penetration of new viruses and other malicious objects via removable devices into your computer while preserving performance by omitting knowingly "clean" objects from repeated scans.

Your logs look ok, there is not any settings which can make dr.web to use a lot of system sources, now you can change log level to Standard in Spider Guard Settings window.

Let me check your running processes, we would see exactly how much RAM and CPU dr.web uses on your system.

Please follow these steps

  • Please go to the Proces Explorer website and download the Proces Explorer archive file to your computer.
  • Extract this archive file by using 7zip or windows build-in zip utility. Right click on the file, choose 7zip and then choose extract here.
  • Double click on extracted procexp.exe file.
  • Porcess Explorer main window will be opened.
  • Please choose File ->Save As from the toolbox of process explorer.
  • Please save Procexp.txt file to your computer and attach this file to your next post.

Hello,

I couldn't see CPU usages of applications. Which application of dr.web (dwengine etc..) uses high CPU. Please locate it in process explorer and follow these steps.

  • Right click on the process
  • Select properties
  • Please choose Threads tab
  • Please click CPU on Threads toolbox, so the thread in process which use high CPU will come on the front line and we would see it.
  • Please tell me which thread uses high CPU or post a screenshot.

Also did you follow Borka's suggestion? How is your PC after this suggestion?

There is not high CPU usage Tony and the RAM of dr.web uses is nearly as same as mine and others.

At least you got more informations about dr.web in this thread.

Good luck!
