Oh yes, a negative post, from me....... ;)

I have requested many times for the Tray icon to be set to 'SHOW' or at least give us, the customer the option to set it to 'SHOW', its our choice what we want it to do on our own machine, not drwebs.

This really annoys me.... this has been ignored too many times!

you dont agree? ;)

with the V5 bug, it soon gets inactivity without any update notifications, so at the moment, its even more frustrating.

but even with update notifications, users should have the option to change this setting, its a windows setting, not a Drweb one.

... incase anyone doesnt know what im talking about ;)

right click your taskbar, properties > notification area > customize

you have set drweb to 'Always Show' and its stays that way?,

sorry, but i dont think so. ;)

this has been the way, since at least 4.33

the setting is there, obviously.... because its a windows setting.

but the setting does not save, reboot and see for yourself.

Yes, it does.

sorry, but you are wrong, you rebooted yet?

it will never keep the 'Always Show' setting, unless Drweb change their software.

Drweb has <no name> which could be causing the problem, but you certainly cannot keep the 'always show' setting.

this problem is there, and always has been there, its even be replied to by Drweb staff, with such comments as "thats how we designed it", so this problem is there, and they are also aware of it.

nobody else have their comments about this, its really frustrating.

i can change it to 'Show', but after reboot, it reverts back to 'Hide when Inactive'

This is either poor coding, or bad decisions.....

I have used Dr. Web for a long time (now using DWSS) and have noticed, periodically, that the icon gets hidden. I have always found it annoying, but never really worried about it. It would be nice if it were fixed somehow to always show. I did just now follow Chris's suggestion, and it did, indeed, revert back to <hide when inactive> after reboot. I wonder why my other tray icons (e.g., LnS, WinPatrol, etc.) don't ever get hidden, it seems. But, it is annoying to have to go through the hassle of making it show again.

they dont seem to want to give us the choice for this, it really annoys me as i have 2 pieces of software that do this. (other being IncrediMail)

i would love to know a work-around, a fix or for drweb to fix this for me, is it really too much to ask? :)
