DrWeb Link Scanner Firefox Add-on not working

Hi there

 

In Firefox the Link Checker add-on is not initializing when rigth clicking on web links.

I do not have any problem with the Chrome add-on. As matter of fact it initialize when rigth clicking on any link. (With or without full URL)

 

I tried to run Firefox with all my add-ons off, but for WOT and Hitmanpro.Alert.

 

Nothing happen.

 

Running Windows 7

 

Privatefirewall 7.0 free edition

 

Bitdefender Free Antivirus

 

Is anybody there on the forum having similar issues with Firefox?

Temporary disable all extensions, except DrWeb LinkChecker, and try to reproduce the issue.

How about firewall's logs? :)

Did as you suggested. No positive results.

Again the link checker does not initialize. Nothing happen once rigth click on links for scanning.

 

Checked my firewall settings and there are no blocks for Dr Web. If that was the case the Add-on would not work on Chrome, would it not?

I assume that goes for all my others security application.

(On Chrome the link checker works with all extensions enable)

 

I'm not computer expert, quite illiterate actualy when come to that. :unsure:

 

Nothing appear on screen so I cannot take a screen shot.

Right click on any text/word in this (or any other) message. Normally, context-menu should appear, with well-known words such "Open Link in new tab", "Back", "Forward", "Save as", "Cut", "Copy", "Paste" and so on. Does it appear? Is there "Scan with Dr.Web" string, as shown below?

If you couldn't find it - you probably didn't install the program correctly.

What about your version of FF?

In the Tools menu of your FF, select Extensions. A window will appear, displaying a list of installed add-ons. Is there "Dr.Web LinkChecker"?

Right click on any text/word in this (or any other) message. Normally, context-menu should appear, with well-known words such "Open Link in new tab", "Back", "Forward", "Save as", "Cut", "Copy", "Paste" and so on. Does it appear? Is there "Scan with Dr.Web" string, as shown below?

If you couldn't find it - you probably didn't install the program correctly.

What about your version of FF? Dr.Web Link checker

 

Running the latest version of FF 34.0

 

Dr.Web LinkChecker version 3.4 Appears on FF Extension.

Dr.Web Link Checker appear when right click on text/words/ links/url.

 

When double click on any link (with or without url) nothing happen.

 

I did run an alternative Link Scanner and it worked fine.

 

Sorry mate but I don't really know what to say. I may have to re instal the alternative link checker on FF. Shame 'though i would have preferred Dr.Web.

When clicking on any link (with or without url, text/words) nothing happen.

Russian, so you can use autotranslated subtitles. It's horrible, autotranslation is :facepalm:  but better than nothing...

Is anybody there that could tell me how to contact thecnical support for help. Dr.Web homepage does not seems to offer thecnical support for free product. :huh:

The above support webpage give me this options:

 

1) I'm an owner of a commercial Dr.Web license/corporate demo license.

2) I am a subscriber of the "Dr.Web antivirus" service.

3) I do not have yet a commercial Dr.Web license.

 

Unfortunately when the the 3rd option is selected (option that apply to me) I'm sent to a webpage in Russian.

When selecting the corresponding English version, at the top right, I'm sent back to the original webpage that give me the 3 options.

That happen when I try the 2nd option too.

The 1st require a license key.

 

No luck here... :(

You may also try to downgrade your version of LinkChecker - sometimes it works! :)

Don't forget to remove previous version before new installation(s).

No luck, again...

 

I realy appreciate your efforts. But at this stage I'll give up. Maybe later on, when new versions or updates comes out I'll try again.
