The Dr Web icon is not appearing in the application taskbar when the system loads on the latest Suse enterprise desktop, even though I have libappindicator1 installed.

I'm running Suse Enterprise Desktop 15 SP2 (Gnome 3) with the dash to panel extension, and I installed Dr web via the suse dr web repository.

It seems to be running fine otherwise - I am getting update notifications and can run the GUI manually.

Anyone have an idea how I can get the taskbar icon to load?

Thanks for your help!

The system tray was removed from GNOME3. You may try to find a GNOME shell extension restoring it. There were several of them, but I have no idea if any is compatible with your GNOME version.

Thanks :) I found this one based on your advice (on my gnome 3.34.7 with wayland):

https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/615/appindicator-support/

Turned it on and rebooted, and the icon has appeared.

Thanks for the help!

The gnome developers seem to love to remove useful features..
