Doctor Web has released updates for single-user Dr.Web 7.0 products for Windows to incorporate new features and resolve known issues in the Dr.Web Net Filtering Service, Dr.Web Control Service, Dr.Web SpIDer Agent and Dr.Web Updater modules.
Now in SpIDer Agent’s settings for connecting to the GUS, the proxy server authorization type can be specified. In addition, users can select an updating source. A computer with Dr.Web software installed on it can serve this pupossse so other machines on the network will receive updates from that PC. With the updating mirror feature, one can back up updating files in a selected directory and use the mirror to deliver the updates to other machines that are not connected to a network, for example, with a flash drive.
The Dr.Web Control Service's architecture has been reorganized, so that all anti-virus components are launched in a defined sequence which contributes to increased loading speed and a lower response time upon system start-up. An issue that occurred when restarting the service after the application of an update has been resolved. Adjustments have been made to the routine for automatic license renewal.
Minor issues related to Dr.Web SpIDer Agent's operation, including an error that occurred when the anti-virus's icon wouldn't reappear in the system tray after restarting the Explorer shell, have also been resolved. Errors that might occur upon disabling Dr.Web SpIDer Guard and issues involving non-Latin characters being displayed incorrectly have been fixed. Minor tweaks to the ettings interface of the components have been introduced.
Dr.Web Updater operational logic has been changed. Now the last successful update of any anti-virus component is considered to be the last date of update. The last virus database issue date and time can now be found in the About section of the menu.
The update will be automatically downloaded by the anti-viruses, but applying it will require a system reboot.
