Hi, i have just tried installing Dr Web on windows vista sp1, connected via a router.

When i reboot i have lost my internet connection.
When checking the settings everything seems fine except for IPV6 which says limited connection, altough afetr uninstalling IPV6 is still limited but internet connection is fine

Disabling and re enabling the connection does not help, windows cannot find a solution when trying a repair.

I disabled the Windows firewall as well but no luck

As i have lost the internet connection i cannot register to download a demo key through Dr Web.

I have now uninstalled The Dr and my internet is back!

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be ?

EDIT:
I should add that prior to installation i had completely removed KIS, i have also disabled Windows Defender and done a scan with CCleaner prior to installation.

Following the reply to my question at Wilders forum by sergeyko, i now have my internet connection back after uninstalling spidermail.
So now i await instructions as to what the problem may be to help resolve this.

Hi, i dont know if anyone reads the english forum but according to the support page this is where i ask for support for a demo version od Dr.Web.

Following sergeyko`s advice on Wilders forum, to remove spidermail to get my internet connection back, he also asked me to "Could you please run in command line:
reg export HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesWinSock2 tcp.txt

and show its content?

As of yet sergyko has yet to reply, but i understand that he may be busy, or maybe on holiday for the easter weekend so i am also posting the log file here.

Hopefully someone can help.

Hi hawkwind!

SpiderMail have a conflict with Vista Parental Control feature. It's a know bug and developers are working to fix it.

For now you can disable Parental Control and reinstall SpiderMail with "spiderml -install" command or leave Parental Control turned on and wait for the updated version of SpiderMail that'll fix this problem.

Hi, after checking again that parental controls were turned off i installed spidermail again, and once again my internet connection was blocked :(

Please attach spiderml_install.log from DrWeb directory.

EDIT: Also please check if Parental Control service is still running. You can do this by opening Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
Make sure that Parental Control service is stopped and is set to disabled state.

It is located in the root of the directory where Dr.Web is installed.
By default it is "C:Program FilesDrWeb" directory.
So the full path to the file will be "C:Program FilesDrWebspiderml_install.log"

I guess it was not there because i had uninstalled spidermail.

I've looked thru the spiderml_install.log
You've got Parental Control enabled, so as I said earlier you should disable it prior to installing SpiderMail.

Please, take a closer look at my previous post at 2:40:41 and make sure that the Parental Control service is stopped and set to disabled.

To check if Parental Control is disabled on your system please follow these steps:
1. Open "Control Panel"
2. Open "Administrative Tools" within "Control Panel"
3. Find "Services" under "Administrative Tools" and open them
4. Find "Parental Control" service in the list and make sure that it is stopped and set to disabled.

Have you tried to set it to disabled and reboot your computer?
Not sure if this will help but it's worth a try.
It look's like Vista doesn't remove it's Parental Control LSP once it is installed even if the service is disabled. :-(

Another way to fix this problem is to disable automatic connection interception in SpiderMail and configure it manually.
To do this you should right-click on the SpiderMail icon on the taskbar, select "Settings", switch to the "Interception" tab and select "Manual connections setup".
After that you should press the "Parameters..." button and configure connections to your pop3/smtp/news/imap servers. You can find details on how to do this in bundled help file which is accessible by clicking "Help" button on SpiderMail Settings window.
Also you'll have to reconfigure your mail client program.

Feel free to post to this forum if you encounter any problems while configuring manual interception in SpiderMail.

Hi, the drweb-lsp.exe supplied from the bugs repot section has fixed the problem and i now have my internet connection :)

Thank you everyone for your help in solving this.

The only thing happening now that shold not is windows reports dr antivirus as turned off although i can confirm that it is working and scanning.
