hi,

I want to uninstall Dr. Web, but I'm not able to.
When I click the uninstall button it gives me the installshield screen with the following text: "The InstallShield Wizard will install Dr Web(4.44.1.04070) on your computer. To continue click next.". If I click next it says it will install a newer version and that I should uninstall the older version first before continueing.
I tried also via the Add/Remove programs in the control panel, but the same thing.
OS: WinXP

I was happy of Dr Web and wanted to buy it, but the annoying pop-ups when the trial period was over put me off.

Try manual deletion - from Dr.Web's folder:
1. spidernt -remove
2. spiderml -remove
3. REGSVR32.EXE /U drwsxtn.dll
4. reboot
5. delete Dr.Web's folder
6. run REGEDIT than search and delete any appearances of "drweb", "idavlab", "drweb32w.exe" etc.
7. reboot
8. Install new version.

Thanks for the quick response:

I tried spidernt-remove
Got the following error: spIder guard cannot be removed. The specified service does not exist as an installed service (1060)
After that I got the same error but now for Spider guard file system monitor
then it says spider guard is removed(but I don't think it did anything)
spiderml -remove: Spidermail got uninstalled
REGSVR32.exe /u drwsxtn.dll: RegScr32 LoadLibrary("drwsxtn.dll") failed- the module could not be found.

I'll try now in safe-mode

EDIT: Safe-mode got the same result

So no spider's service/driver installed.

Good. No spiderml present.

the module could not be found.

Did you run REGSVR32 from drweb's folder?

Did you remove any DrWeb's tails in the registry?
