http://forum.drweb.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mellow.png I recently renewed/re-installed Dr. Web Security Space on my laptop (Windows XP Home SP3). In the systray icon, there is a yellow triangle with exclamation mark. SpiderGuard Control indicates: "The Following Components Are Not Loaded--SpiderGuard for Windows, SpiderGuard File System Monitor." I have already tried running a "modify" operation (click on installer and indicate I want to modify) to manually make sure Spider Guard will be installed, but that doesn't solve the problem--when I reboot, the error is still there. I cannot find any other posts that address this issue. How do I fix this?
Thanks in advance!
"May all beings be at peace...."

Hi! What exactly have you done - de-installed Dr. Web Security Space completely and then installed it? What version of install package have you used, when you downloaded it? The install package is digitally signed (file-Properties), from what day the timestamp is?

Hi, userr!
Thanks for your help!
I downloaded the program yesterday, May 9, from Dr. Web. The digital signature details show: Monday, May 04, 2009; 12:08:23 a.m.
I installed the program as usual; it looked like it installed properly, but then upon reboot it showed the error in the systray icon.

Ok, DavidR. Let's try this way:
The main menu Start -> Run...
Past in the Run string the following string: "C:\Program Files\DrWeb\spidernt.exe /install:auto"
Note: This string must be past as is, with quotes.
Than press Enter and reboot your PC.

SergM,
I'm sorry this is giving so much trouble!
I have pasted that exact string and run it.
But I then get this error message:
"C:\Program Files\DrWeb\spidernt.exe /install:auto" is not accessible. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

"C:\Program Files\DrWeb\spidernt.exe /install:auto" is not accessible. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

1. Switch off Self-defence.
2. Type
"C:\Program Files\DrWeb\spidernt.exe" /install:auto

I get the exact same error message.
When I look in the Dr. Web folder in the Program Files, I do see the spidernt file. It does not have .exe in the name. Does that matter?

Where did Dr.Web install to?
What will say
dir "C:\Program Files\DrWeb\spider*.*"
?
What will say
sc query spider
sc query spidernt
?

Borka,

I want to first say that when I run "C:\Program Files\DrWeb\spidernt.exe" /install:auto, I do get a message saying: Spider Guard is now installed. However, when I reboot my computer after that, it goes back to the original problem: saying that Spider Guard is not loaded. In other words, even though running this string does install Spider Guard, it doesn't reload upon reboot.
It seems like we are making some progress at least. I can get SG to install, but it doesn't stay upon reboot.
When I do a search for spider*.* it shows that those files, including spidernt, are in C:\Program Files\DrWeb
"May all beings be at peace...."
