I have attached two logs--is there another type of log you would like to see?

Yes. CureIT or scanner log needed too.

Try to put some file to Dr.Web's folder or try to terminate any process belonging to Dr.Web via TaskManager.

Yes, self-protection is working. I cannot add any file into Dr. Web folder--it denies access.

Borka,
Sorry, yes, before re-installing Dr. Web again, I installed Avira Free; ran a complete scan, and it did say it found a virus--I don't remember the name of it--which I told it to repair. I uninstalled Avira Free and then re-installed Dr. Web. This had no effect on solving the issue with Spider, as it still exists. I did run a VirusTotal scan just now, and it told me that it was negative. I have deleted this file again.

Can you uninstall it, and test if it helps?

Hi, sr!
I have used LnS together with Dr. Web for a long time without any trouble. In the past, I have found LnS to be somewhat temperamental to re-install, so I don't want to uninstall it. I did try disabling it via Windows Defender--I was still unable to get Spider to load.

Borka,
http://forum.drweb.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png Of course, I removed Avira before I re-installed Dr. Web...I never have more than one a/v program together!
Since Spider has not been loaded, I am concerned that this computer is without a/v protection all this time. What do you recommend? How should I check for viruses? Should I run CureIt each day, until this Spider issue is fixed? I don't want to add any new "on-demand-only" a/v programs, because that will put too many new files on my computer that will confuse things for us.
Thanks!

Borka,
I think I installed this program a long time ago, but ultimately removed it. I, also, have noticed in some of the logs some entries that made me think of that program.
Is Process Guard related to Prevx Edge in any way? Quite some time ago, I had Prevx Edge installed--and it was totally incompatible with Dr. Web! It froze my computer terribly. As soon as I removed Prevx, the computer went back to normal. I was absolutely not able to continue to use Prevx with Dr. Web. How is it possible to locate and remove all old remnants of other uninstalled security programs, which might be causing a problem now? Is there a way to do it? I often run CCleaner and GlarySoft Registry Repair, which I think are safe.
I want to add one more thing that might help...whatever is causing Dr. Web to not load must be due to a change in my computer that was made within the last 2-3 months, because I was using Dr. Web SS on this computer with no problems at all--everything was working well! Then, something changed within the last 2-3 months, and when I re-installed Dr. Web, it no longer loaded properly. Maybe this will help us know which recent changes might be causing the problem.

Borka,
How can I deactivate or remove this, so that it no longer affects my computer?
Also, I wanted to mention that I renewed my license to Dr. Web SS on April 3 this year--so the program was working well at that time. The problem must have occurred after that time.

Find C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\procguard.sys and move it (do not delete) to another place. Reboot and watch spider's behaviour.

Borka,
I moved that driver to my desktop, rebooted the computer, and the problem is still there.
I recently bought another computer (laptop) with Vista. On that computer, I now have Avira Premium Security Suite installed. I am going to switch the a/v programs: I will transfer Dr. Web SS to my new computer, and transfer Avira PSS to this computer, which has the problem for Dr. Web. I think this old laptop has something on it that is causing the problem with Dr. Web, but it probably will work with Avira PSS. And, Dr. Web should not have the problem on my new computer. Since I just renewed my Dr. Web license for another year, I just would like to use it--it does not matter to me if it is on my old computer or my new one. If Dr. Web works on the new one, that is fine with me! I will do this now and post here what happens! http://forum.drweb.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png

Borka,
I have transferred Dr. Web SS to my new computer, where it is working properly--as it did in the past! All components of the program are functioning. My old computer--the one that prevented Spider from loading--now has Avira Premium Security Suite installed, and it is working properly.
I know it would have helped Dr. Web, technically, to find out what caused Spider to not load, but I'm happy that I can still use Security Space for the remainder of my license on my new computer.
I'll say it again: my thanks to you and everyone else who contributed a great deal of time and energy and expertise to helping with this issue. http://forum.drweb.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png
